ABOUT APRIL VAN DOMBURG 
The Amsterdam-based artist works with clay to create sculptural objects that emerge from intuition and abstraction. Using earthy materials and strong contrasts, her pieces take shape through a process of letting the material lead. 
Her approach is tactile and instinctive, resulting in one-off sculptures that feel both raw and considered. 
Alongside her autonomous practice, she creates commission work for various brands and sculptures on request. She also works with embedded ash, forming lasting objects that hold the presence of loved ones.
